Nexus Privacy Policy

Entity: Nexus ("we," "us," or "our") — operated by an Individual

App: Nexus (the "App")

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use Nexus. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1) Information We Collect

a) Information you provide to us

Email address
First and last name
Social media profile information (when you connect a social account to sign in or share content)

b) Information from your device (with permission)

Camera (Pictures): We access the camera only when you choose to take or upload a photo within the App. We do not continuously collect images from your camera. Photos you capture or upload are processed to provide App features (e.g., attaching an image to a task or profile) and stored as needed to operate those features.

c) Usage and diagnostics data (automatic collection)

When you interact with the App, we may automatically collect:

App activity, device and OS information, language, crash logs, and performance diagnostics
Analytics via Google Analytics (see §6)

We do not collect precise geolocation unless you explicitly provide it inside content you submit.

2) How We Use Personal Information

We use information to:

Create and manage your account and provide App features
Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
Send service communications (e.g., confirmations, updates) and, with your consent where required, promotional emails you can opt out of at any time
Process payments for subscriptions (see §7)
Monitor and improve App performance, functionality, and security
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms
Comply with legal obligations

Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

Contract: to provide the App and paid features
Consent: for optional emails and certain analytics/cookies where required
Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the App, and to support customer service, balanced against your rights and expectations
Legal obligation: where laws require processing

3) Email Communications

Transactional emails (account, security, billing) are necessary for the App
Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in (or where permitted by law). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us (see §13)
We may use service providers to deliver emails on our behalf

4) Cookies and Similar Technologies

We (and our providers) use cookies and similar technologies to run the App, remember your preferences, and perform analytics. Where required, we will request your consent for non-essential cookies. You can manage cookies through in-App settings (where available) and your device/browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect App functionality.

5) No Advertising

We do not show third-party advertising in the App and we do not share your personal information with third parties for their advertising purposes.

6) Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how users engage with our App. Google Analytics collects information such as device identifiers, usage data, and events. Google may process this data on servers in multiple countries.

Controls: You can limit analytics via your device settings, in-App analytics controls (where available), browser settings, or industry opt-out tools. For more details, please refer to Google's privacy documentation.

7) Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by third-party payment processors (e.g., app store providers or payment gateways). Payment card details are transmitted directly to those processors and are not stored by us. The processor's use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy and terms. We receive limited information related to your subscription status (e.g., payment success, plan, expiration) to maintain your access.

8) hCaptcha

We use hCaptcha to protect the App from abuse and spam. hCaptcha may collect and process technical data (such as device and activity information) to determine whether an action is performed by a human. hCaptcha's processing is governed by its own privacy policy and terms. Where required, we will ask for your consent before enabling hCaptcha.

9) Sharing Your Information

We share personal information only with:

Service providers/Processors that help us operate the App (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, payments, customer support)
Security and anti-abuse providers (including hCaptcha)
Authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
Successors/affiliates in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of assets, subject to this Policy

We do not sell your personal information.

10) International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you reside (including the United States and the European Economic Area). Where applicable, we use lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or rely on your consent or necessity for contract performance.

11) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining and improving performance, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information, unless we are required to retain it (e.g., for legal, tax, or accounting reasons).

12) Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal information, including:

Access, correction, deletion, and portability
Withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent
Objection or restriction to certain processing (including where based on legitimate interests)
Opt-out of marketing emails at any time

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know, access, correct, delete certain information, and to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising (which we do not perform). You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

How to exercise your rights

Contact us at help@nexustasks.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. If you are in the EEA/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

13) Children's Privacy

Nexus is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it. If your country sets a different age of digital consent, we will comply with that age threshold.

14) Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15) Third-Party Links and Services

The App may link to third-party websites, services, or content that are not controlled by us. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their practices.

16) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the new Policy in the App or by email, and update the Effective date above.

Region-Specific Disclosures (Summary)

California: We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. See §12 for your rights.
